Премія Гарві

Пре́мія Га́рві (англ. Harvey Prize, івр. פרס הארווי‎) — міжнародна премія в галузі науки і техніки, яка щорічно присуджується Техніоном (Хайфа) науковцям за видатні досягнення у медицині, природничих та гуманітарних науках, а також, за внесок у мир на Близькому Сході.

Загальна інформація

Дві премії вручаються щорічно, з 1972 року, науковцям незалежно від їхньої расової, національної, релігійної приналежності, громадянства та статі. Грошова частина нагороди становить 75 тисяч доларів США. Вона виплачується з Фонду імені Ліни П. Гарві. Фонд заснований сім'єю Гарві (Ліною і Лео Гарві, каліфорнійського підприємця та винахідника) й переданий у безстровкове управління товариству друзів Техніона.

Зазвичай, премія Гарві не присуджується нобелівським лауреатам, а також лауреатам премії Вольфа. Винятком є кандидати, що номінуються за нові (або відмінні від уже відзначених нагородами) роботи. Деякі лауреати премії Гарві уже згодом отримали Нобелівську премію.

Згідно зі статутом Фонду, однією з умов отримання премії Гарві є приїзд лауреата у статусі гостя Техніону до Ізраїлю та участь у місячному турне науково-дослідницькими інститутами й університетами країни з читанням лекцій про свої наукові досягнення. Тексти цих лекцій публікуються у «Наукових доповідях лауреатів премії Гарві», що видаються регулярно.
